Liberation Day 25th April

Well today's plan was to find a track along the banks of the Tassobbio and then to climb up to where we were 3 weeks ago.
But we soon found out that the land slump of Monte Staffola was still very active. As you can see the land has slid down to the stream to form a
lake of sinister looking mud.
So we swapped to plan B and pushed up the hillside to Vedriano where we made a few new friends.

Walking back there was a striking view of the whole of the slump which begins at 693 m and slides down the hillside. The phenomena was reactivated back in 1993.

Although the road had long gone, being intrepid explorers, we slipped and slid across the mud knowing that at the other side....

There was 'La Quercia' holiday farm complete with organic restaurant. So we treated ourselves to a plate of cakes and sat in the sun for a bit, me with knitting before returning downhill to the car,

which we'd left beside the recently restored Mill of Chichino.
